Light Under the House by Aaron L. and Donna Dawson is reminiscent of Frank Perretti's novels This Present Darkness or The Visitation.
The writing is superb and the story will grip you immediately. However, unless you are able to sit down and read a fair chunk of it you may be a little lost each time you pick it up again, as character after character are introduced in the following chapters. Much to the author's credit though, the story line was so intriguing and the writing so well done that I just couldn't put the book down.
It is hard for me to describe what this book is about because it is quite bizarre. It is a bit allegorical, a bit fantasy and a lot of horror. Queen Jezebel has been reincarnated, of a sorts, in the body of a character named Tanis, then she sort of travels into the body of a character named Sarai. I would call it demon possession. She has great power and is able to turn grown men into little boys - literally. She is on a mission to find a Menorah and at the same time destroy all men because of the abuse she suffered growing up. Throw into that a prodigal son type of story at the very beginning of the book and you will be wondering where in the world this book is leading.
Packed with action, suspense and gore - this book will be a horror fan's delight.
I give Light Under the House 3 stars.
